Summary

"Super Knightro" is a Mario Bros clone made for DIG 4713C Game Production at UCF. The game is inspired by UCF's mascot Knightro and follows his perilous adventure using assets made by a team of four. Guidelines were to create a clone of a classic game (pre-1996) and to build two levels with assets made exclusively by the team. Coding, art, and level design were completed by Madison Arella.




My Contributions

Project Management

Kept documentation records, maintained the GitHub, and regularly attended group meetings to ensure the success and smooth flow of the project.


Level Design

Contributed to all aspects of level design including restructuring levels using Paper Sprite and 2D tools inside of Unreal Engine.


2D Art

Contributed environmental assets and implemented 2D art assets, setting up Flipbook animations and sequences for seamless gameplay.


Programming

Completed all programming required for the betterment and success of the project, implementing features through Blueprint scripting and node manipulation within UE5's various menus.



What I learned.


I learned that collaborative environments can be difficult to navigate with all of the many differing ideas between group members, and I discovered new methods of problem solving. My Blueprint scripting knowledge was expanded upon and my skillset for developing 2D games in Unreal was founded.
