Summary

"Gameboy" is a 3D model made for Modeling 2 at UCF. The piece was modeled in Maya, brought into ZBrush for beveling and dynameshing, textured in Substance Painter, and presented in UE5.

What I learned.


I learned that sometimes a step-by-step instruction can be more of a hindrance than a help, and that typically, learning the HOW and WHY of tools is important to retaining the knowledge. In this project, I struggled with how to use the tools and when to use them, trying to follow the tutorial exactly, and that hurt my ability and learning experience. Next time, I hope to delve into 3D modeling with the goal of making a model with zero n-gons and as few problems as possible by my own merit.
